Almost 5 weeks...too good to wait!

Pictures from last week when G turned 1 month

3rd time is a charm...Success in the Tub!
So, the first two baths we gave baby G did not go so well. The first one, Matt and I tried to go by the rubber ducky thermometer (FUTURE PARENTS: Do not use that darn duck!) The water was WAY too cold. The second bath, my mom and I used slightly warmer water, but made the mistake of trying to use the bath to soothe the already fussy baby. That did not help, but that bath was much better than the first. Now, the third bath, the water was much warmer, we did it in a closed room so it could be warm, had a space heater going, and did it with a calm baby. He did not cry once was not fussy! Yayy!! WE will incorporate this into our nightly ritual since baby G likes the water after all :)

Christmas In Happy Valley
So, I am super lucky and have a lot of support post having a baby. Matt got the rest of the week off when I gave birth on a Tuesday. He had planned vacation the following week (Thanksgiving). My mom came out for 2 weeks and Matt went back to work during that time. My dad came for four days during the last week my mom was here. Matt now has another 2 1/2 weeks off and then his parents are here. Man o Man am I lucky :)

Matt decided to put up lights since this is our first Christmas as homeowners, parents, and in Oregon. The awesome Christmas tree made from green lights....is courtesy of....who else...our AWESOME neighbors. We did not turn on our porch or garage lights...but you can get the picture of what it looks like ;)

This baby Christmas tree was the only thing we had out at first...then our neighbors did the tree....lol

Wreath I made last year :)...First one I ever made!

So, our neighbors....they are always sooo festive for the holidays. Matt and I aspire to acquire and decorate the way they do for all the holidays...(that is only one of the many things we aspire to copy them in). You all know how much we love our neighbors so I will zip it and show you the beauty that is their light show. They also have music going on :) Baby Grayson will just love it next year <3

Most of the view...you still are missing the fence that says Peace, Love, Hope when you are driving up our street...I shall try to take a pic of that sometime soon

Christnukkah- aka Christmas + Hannukah
My friend Taylor had a Christmas/Hannukah party. I have decided when I grow up...I want to be just like her (she is younger than me lol). She is the hostess with the mostest, etc. She made all the props you see below and had a picture station. She made yummy treats, cookies, candy, latkes, brisket, and more. I loved her little party favor...it was a cookie mix with a little tag of how to bake it and what to mix in. I feel very lucky and blessed to have met her. She has been very helpful and supportive with helping me settling into mommyhood.  I have a group of wonderful girlfriends I met through the spousal support group aligned with OHSU (this is how I met Taylor). It is for wives with husbands in med school, residency, or fellowship. They all have been such a wonderful support system and I do not think I would be as happy as I am without them! <3 you girls!

Next week:
Matt's parents come in on Friday! We are super excited for them to meet our little man and we know they are very excited too. Be ready for a lot more grandparent pictures but this time, of the Richards :) I wish we were able to spend Christmas with both of families (like we usually do in Albuquerque) including our extended families like aunts, uncles, and cousins, but we are so thankful we have one set of parents here to spend it. Matt is also going to work a few days the week of Christmas but it is clinic. He may have Matt's minutes, but with 3 days of work..he may not :)
