Holding head up more
Grayson is getting stronger everyday! He actually rolled over all on his own! Yay! Video is below!

I am so strong!
Turtle baby!
happy boy!
after a nice walk outside with mom

There is drool all over the couch lol
Hi, world! I like my bumbo!
Hi, I am going to roll!

Fighting naps
Grayson has decided that he no longer wants to nap...let me correct that...he thinks he does not want to nap but he is tired! I feel like he is too little to start fighting sleep (at least it is only naps) but still. His favorite way to go to sleep is on a full tummy, and then he wedges his head under my neck and chin...as seen below.
He will nap on Matt and me for an hour +, but when we put him down, he lasts maybe 15 minutes. Swings have come in handy because he has slept for 20-40 minutes but that does not happen too often. Nothing reliable. I recently had a not so fun struggle with him. I took the below picture. Matt says I look stressed, but I was just annoyed lol. It is okay to be annoyed right?   I still love baby G just the same! We are going to sleep train/ work on these naps once he has hit 4 months. Can we really complain when he sleeps from 8-10 hours at night? If he has to nap on me a couple of times a day...why not? It gives me consistent sleep at night...which mommy and daddy need!
Why fight sleep when he seems so peaceful?? Of course here are nap pictures :)

 Snuggles
This bouncer is so clutch when it comes to getting a fussy baby asleep...
Yes, he is asleep on his daddy!

What mom does when she needs to get stuff done around the house but I do not sleep for that long when I am not sleeping on a person!

Preparing for El Paso Trip
I cannot believe I am going to be in EP in 3 short days! I am a little nervous to fly with G, but he is a pretty good baby. Just say an extra prayer for me on Tuesday night ;) My flight leaves Portland at 6 am, so that means leaving our house at 4:30 am....eeek! He usually sleeps until 6:45...hopefully this is not a receipe for disaster!

Grayson has been fairly talkative. Of course when I pull out my phone, he does not talk as much, but this has a surprise ending :) He is more talkative in the evening so I shall try to catch more later!

Family visiting EP to see Grayson
This little boy cannot wait to see all of his family! My aunts are coming in town from Austin and Abq and Matt's cousin and aunt are coming from Rio Rancho! He is already so excited...look at that face!
WE are also excited to see the grandparents and all of mommy's friends :) Matt's Minutes

Clinic went well this week, and I have worked one day in MICU. It is hard work and long hours. There are a lot of sick patients. Not to much more to share. I will miss Tammy and Grayson very much, but I am glad she is going home where she can get help with Grayson since I will have a very unpredictable and likely long hours.

13 weeks! 3 months!

3 months
Can you guys believe that it has been 3 months with this handsome boy?

I love this cute little outfit! It has flown by!
3 month update:
Sleeps 8-10 hours at night
Making grasping movements with hands
Pushing up while on his tummy
Loves to coo
Smiles when he see mommy or daddy
Sucks hands consistently
Still loves to nap on mom or dad
Starting to fight naps
Tracks people even more with his eyes
Loves his Winnie the Pooh mobile especially the music
Starting to like bumbo
Hits toys with his hands
Grayson grisping..I mean grasping..haha I do not know what happened to my brain! I cannot talk! I think Grayson is going to be extra brillant because he has his own brain plus stole some of my brain cells!

Valentine's Day
Matt worked on Valentine's day and his co workers were sweet and tried to get him out early. He came home at a pretty decent hour and I am thankful he has nice co workers! Baby G and I decided to have another photo shoot! This is what happened when I first wanted to start it....note the spit up all over his shirt and pants....so mom decided to wash the clothes and reshoot it ;)
He enjoyed it for the first few minutes...but as you will see he started to get over taking pictures.

Hope you guys enjoyed your Valentine's Day! I was extra excited because I got to chat with my mom who has been in Thailand for almost a month now! She comes home Monday! Yay!!
Napping
Before you guys start calling/texting/emailing me...I know...It is okay for him to cry...he needs to learn not to nap on me...etc etc

I've said it before and I'll say it again...the better he sleeps during the day..the more he sleeps at night..which makes a happy mommy and daddy...I also enjoy all the extra cuddling. WE are tying to figure out a few good times to swaddle him and put him down...so far...Grayson 1...mom and dad 0. Hopefully tomorrow will be better!

He has napped a few times in his swing, which has been an awesome experience for me. I have him put him down in it awake so I could fold clothes or organize his room. He actually drifted to sleep on his own and slept there for a while! Those few times, I was able to get a lot of stuff done around the house. I really am trying to get him to nap on his own!

He also likes to nap in his stroller...he usually starts falling asleep shortly after being put in the carseat and if not ...by the time I hit the end of my street. He still does not always enjoy the car...he cried for 35 minutes straight....I think I blogged about this last time!
 napping on me!
 napping  next to me!
You can see he has a hint of red in his hair..here...
These are the faces I get when he wakes up

Ready for a walk and a nice long nap!
more walk fun!

Cuddles

Sleeping in the city...I was running around with Taylor and Grayson decided he did not want to sleep in his stroller...he wanted to sleep on his mommy! Thank God for Ergos (baby carrier)

Bumbo fun/ Shirtless boy
Grayson has become a shirtless boy because I do not want to do laundry everyday. He has started spitting up again, so I sometimes just let him be shirtless. Some of these pictures were just too cute not to share.

He originally hated his bumbo when I first started trying to put him in it. I thought he might like it more being propped up against the couch. Bingo! He totally enjoys this view of life, but does need the head support for now!

 Help from mom....
no help...I did not leave him like this too long!
 oooo I like this mom!
Yay...moving my hands~

 smiles
 watching my toy
really watching my toy!
Toy fun/Brilliant boy
Grayson is brilliant! I know I have said this before...but seriously! He was playing up a storm and of course when I take out my phone to record him...he stops. Just a little coaxing and you will see what happens!

Cougar fun
This adorable little girl...Nora....is a COUGAR!!

She is already giving Grayson his first lady friend kisses!! Nora, Taylor's baby girl, has been the best little friend for G lately. She use to want to pat him (hard) and basically maul him anytime she could...she always just wants to love on him. She has learned to touch softly. Nora also enjoys getting really close and whispering Hi! I was trying to capture her saying hi...I am not sure if you can hear it, but instead she decided to kiss my baby G....I was a bit uncomfortable because I am a little too overprotective...I admit it...I see the cuteness now lol!
Boxer or Doctor
I am not sure if Grayson will follow in his daddy's footsteps or become a boxer. Lately, he has been punching and jabbing with his little fists.

Matt Minutes
I am glad to be done to be working on VA wards. We were lucky enough to have a light month, which was nice. Although, we did have a few interesting patients, it was nice to have a few light days since I am just getting back into the groove of things. I am now off to week of clinic, which includes rotating onto MED/Psych clinic, Women's Health clinic, and Geriatrics clinic. After clinic, I will be moving onto the very busy ICU. I am very sad to see Tammy and Grayson leave. I was lucky to have another 3 day weekend with my clinic.

12 weeks

Almost 3 months?
I know I have been saying this a lot, but man..where has the time gone? G will be 3 months this coming week! wow! He is changing daily, as they say babies do! He definitely enjoys looking at his mobile on his swing and in his crib (the winnie the Pooh one). Here is a pic of him in his swing, which he is slowing enjoying again. He really  liked it when he was a newborn, then hated it, and now he is warming up to it. The seat of the swing is also a bouncer and that is probably the best baby device we own besides our stroller!

We also have tears!! Oh total sadness. When he cries he really means it now. I will try to capture some tears, but usually we or I am too wrapped up trying to stop those tears to take a picture. He has also reverted to not enjoying his car seat. This was not good for mama when she was driving from downtown portland to our home which is like 35 mins away. I had to pull over because he was so hysterical. Of course, my spoiled child stopped crying when I pulled him out and held him for a little bit. He also resumed the cry fest as soon as I started driving again. Thank goodness for Leiloni coming over, since Matt had a really late night. I think I was suffering from PTSD and needed a breather from that crying session. He had stopped crying again when we got home and he saw my face. What a mama's boy!

Grayson is obsessed with his fingers being in his mouth. His mouth sensors are definitely working so he enjoys sticking his tongue out and tasting his fingers and fist. He is getting better and more consistent about putting them in his mouth. He has even mastered sucking his thumb. I am not a complete fan because a pacifier is easier to take away ...and a finger..well you cannot really take that away. His granddaddy Davis use to love sucking his thumb and was down right ornery about giving it up...Hope G is not like that!

My friend Taylor lives near down-town Portland. It is super fun to go visit her, and since she lives so far I end up spending the entire day into the evening with her. Below is a picture of me rocking out and taking care of 2 babies. Baby G is in the Ergo baby carrier on me (he slept for 2 1/2 hours like this) and my friend Melanie's baby is in the stroller. Who said having two young babies wasn't easy? (I am completely kidding...I was getting some interesting looks since I had a baby carrier in the stroller and a small baby in my baby carrier). hahah
Below is Nora, Taylor's baby. She is pushing some laundry detergent. I see that I may not need to buy baby G gifts, just have him play with random objects. Nora also enjoys pushing a box where she collects things inside the box and then offers to give them to you. Too cute!

Taylor and Nora modeling their Patagonia gear! Lovely ladies!

Dane and Jess came to Portland! It was so nice to see them. It made us realize how much we really really miss them. Our time with them was so wonderful and we hope to spend a lot of time with them in the future. Best friends are the kind of friends you can pick up from where you left off and it is like no time has passed. Miss them!

Zumba

I am going to start teaching Zumba again! I am going to start off slow by teaching a class to my mama friends. WE are going to have our kiddos with us and have a rotation of mamas watch over the kids/tend to the cryers. Hopefully there will not be a lot of tears and a lot of joy with hip shaking. I am so ready to do this! Shake this baby weight off! I've lost nearly 1/2 so far....I am ready to lose the rest!!

Matt

Matt is still on VA wards. He sent me this picture of him at work since I send him several pictures of G and myself. He looks tired I know. Grayson has been sleeping through the night for the most part, but between having a baby and working long hours, I guess a person can look tired...right? He is still handsome to me :)
