Happy New Year!* 61 weeks old

Howdy friends and family!

I am sorry it has been such a long time since I lost posted. It is very hard to find time to blog when I can only do it when Grayson is asleep. I usually have something I should be doing like cleaning the house or dishes since it never seems to be clean. Today I am ignoring and updating you guys instead! :D

Things I need to post about: all the new things Grayson has learned, Thanksgiving and Christmas

Thanksgiving:
Matt was given the week off for Thanksgiving, so we flew home. It is also so nice but a crazy and hectic time. All of my family came into town and a lot of Matt's family. We also managed to see a few friends too. IF we did not get to see you, I am sorry and hopefully next time! :)

We had two Thanksgiving dinners and Grayson loved them both. We were really lucky had a whole row to ourselves flying both to and from El Paso (4 flights).

We kept him happy by feeding him snacks throughout the flight and letting him nap on mommy. We had a diaper change in Las Vegas, which was a bit warm, hence the naked baby in public.

Matt and I got to have a nice date night and went to see Hunger Games 2 aka Catching Fire. It was SOOO GOOD! I also worked out with my mom's trainer and couldn't walk for 2 days...now I know why my mom is in such good shape...I couldn't hack it. I thought teaching Zumba 4 days a week meant I was in pretty good shape. Apparently not when it comes to weights and leg workouts...

Grayson enjoying himself at the Richards' Thanksgiving dinner...yummy!!

Cheryl, my sister in law, suggested running the Turkey Trot. I brought it up to the rest of my family, who are all pretty awesome runners, and we decided to do it. My Uncle Norman was originally going to run with us girls, he is a big time marathon runner, but in the spur of the moment decided to run it competitively. He won for his age group! One day I hope to place...I do not think I will ever win. I did pretty good on this race, it is my second 5K, but I walked way more than I did my first one and that I wanted to. Considering I was barely able to walk and taking a lot of advil, I feel accomplished for doing it! We all had a lot of fun and I am glad we did it! Thanks for the awesome idea Cheryl!

The following are pics from Thanksgiving at my parents house. Grayson is quite loved if you didn't know that already. It seems like he was constantly being held and loved on by somebody throughout the day. It makes me so happy to know how loved my boy is. He is so happy and loves everyone. He had such a great time with all of his family. I am so thankful for such a great family. We are blessed!

Grayson really bonded with his Grand Uncle Damon

Grayson was hungry so he was scoping out the turkey

Grayson loved wearing Norman's medal from the Turkey Trot...here he is being loved by Mr. and Mrs. Swope, Norman's parents and his Grand Auntie Libby
My mom and Libby were twinsies....

Grayson eating his first Peter Piper Pizza...he loved it and ate 2 slices! Jeremy and I were coloring as well

WE had a great time, but were happy to be back in Portland!

Christmas
This year for Christmas, it was just the three of us. Matt was on clinic so he had Christmas Eve and day off. It was so nice :) We had turkey, twice baked potatoes, rolls, and stuffing for dinner! I cooked it all!! I also made Matt a Turtle Pumpkin Pie (not pictured). We had a nice low key Christmas! Grayson loved playing with his new music table.

*Grayson did not know how to feel about Santa...He would not smile at anything...which is odd since he is a very happy and smiley kid. I am wondering if the flashes weirded him out. He is just use to the Iphone paparazzi, not real ones. I will teach him the Davis hot dog smile soon! ;)
**The last picture is a comparison between Grayson's first and second Christmas!

Tammy's Parents Visit
My parents came up after Thanksgiving for a short little trip. My dad and Matt went to the Heat vs. Trailblazer game. My dad got some awesome tickets. Both Matt's and my dad's fear of not getting to see Lebron play came true and Lebron did not even suit up. It was super sad, but they both had such a great time. It was a really close game and they plan on going to another one someday. My mom and I went out to eat while the boys were at the game, and Grayson was at home sleeping with our awesome babysitter, Stacy.

It is amazing the changes we see in Grayson.

Foods:
Grayson is very into self feeding. He will occasionally allow us to spoon feed him, but for the most part he wants to feed himself with his hands. He tries using a spoon and fork too. He loves eating anything and everything...especially carbs. He loves humus and crackers, but now he licks the humus off the crackers and wants more humus. He loves pastas and breads too. Cheeto puffs and Pirate's Booty is his guilty pleasure...

Friends
Grayson has a little girlfriend named Maddie. They are so sweet and they actual play together. She is 2 and G is a little over one. It is adorable to watch him now interact and want to play with others.

He really enjoyed wearing my headphones and jamming out!

Things he loves
Grayson now knows how to sign more. He uses "more" as his I want as well. He will sign more and then point with all fingers down ...so more of a wrist point at whatever he may want. He can also sign to be picked up and all done. When we change his diaper he say he is stinky and wave our hands in front of our nose. He thinks this is hilarious and waves his hand in front of his nose when we say stinky. I also do this when I play with his feet.

He has also started saying "nana" for banana. He says dada, mama and can even say them in a questioning tone with hands up...like "where is mama". He loves to play peek-a-boo and get tickled and kissed. He

He knows that the remote controls the TV and expects when he is aiming the remote at the TV that changes should occur. He loves to play music from his ring stack and dance to it and any other type of music. He sways his arms and does the deep knee bend. I will load some videos next post! :)

It is amazing what smart and quick learner he is.

Bottle & Paci FREE
Grayson is officially off bottles and pacifiers. He decided to self wean from bottles when we were in El Paso. When he was around 11 months, I started giving him a formula feed in a sippy cup. He initially refused and then reluctantly drank it. When were in El Paso, he refused the bottle the first day we were there and we officially went to only sippy cups.

When my mom was visiting she had commented on how his upper teeth seem a little curved. I had already noticed this, and thought maybe I was reading too much into it.  We decided to offer him an orthodontic pacifier *something we should have done earlier....oh well* and he seemed interested in chewing it, but not sucking it like he did his green paci. Now, we just simply read a few stories and then put him down.  I really fear that him being so awesome and good with things is not going to prepare us for a wild and not as adaptable second child. Here is to hoping we get lucky twice....ps...we are not expecting another baby anytime soon...I did not want this post to be interpreted like that.
