Hello friends and family! I was intending to blog every other week because once a week was getting to be too hard, but we have been busy! We took a trip to Seattle with my friend Taylor and her daughter Nora, had a team dinner, Grayson is eating solids now and rolling from his back to his tummy, and my Aunt and Uncle from Austin have come by! Here are pictures from some of our adventures this past week! Pictures from the Tulip festival near Seattle will be next time! They are on my friend's camera :) Matt took a few on his phone so there will be a preview!

So, Portland is known for many things and have a lot of touristy attractions. One of these is Voodoo donuts located downtown. I went with Taylor to buy a bucket for Matt and his team for our team dinner. Grayson is in the carrier if you guys were wondering lol. These donuts are so delicious...they have flavors like bacon, cereal encrusted, vegan ones, and probably any flavor you can think of or can't think of since I have never thought of bacon donuts.....
$8 for this bucket of donuts...there was probably 3-4 dozen! I had to give so many away to my wonderful neighbors, Matt's team, and a guy that worked at Little Big Burger (the place we had dinner)

Zumba
I have taught 2 classes at Taylor's condo of Zumba. The first class Grayson did wonderful and the second class he had a world class meltdown so we had to end class early. Both classes were fun, but really made me realize that I miss teaching them. I did not get to do a complete class either time due to meltdowns, people having to go, etc. I am going to look into a gym job soon. G has his 6 month appointment soon. I feel like he will be well vaccinated at this point and should be able to handle not being with mom for an hour. The worst thing that can happen is that he cries for almost an hour....right?? Eeeek this from the person that does not like to hear him cry for one minute...I think I can ...I think I can...

I just had to share this adorable shot of Nora on the beach in Hawaii...yes I am very jealous that Taylor has gone to Hawaii not once, but twice this year!

Football Hat
So I was completely upset and downright depressed about losing this football hat. I started putting it on him when I got it for Christmas from Matt's cousin, Valda. I think it is the cutest thing ever and was just so excited that he could kind of wear it early on, but I really looked forward to it fitting him right. Well, the day I lost my phone for 11 hours.....I found it! I thought I had checked the couch cushions and the ironic thing is my phone has fallen where I found the hat but I guess I was not looking as thoroughly as I thought. Anywhoo, here are pics from me finding it!
fits like a glove now!
I love my hat!
old pics!!
Grayson and his twin have changed so much in just a few short months! They are both just as cute as ever, but getting so big!
Grayson's toys
Grayson loves to put anything and everything in his mouth. The stick toy is great! My friend Kate (mom of G's twin) recommended it. He does not poke his eye and get it in his mouth pretty well. He loves to gnaw at it. He is still loving his little jumperaroo and when I figure out why this is not letting me post videos I will post more of his playing and eating :)
Grayson loved the swings at the Park. My friend and neighbor Gini suggested putting G in them. I had never thought of them because he cannot completely sit up on his own, but he can sit well enough. He has always been a strong boy. He loved it! We are going to go to the park this weekend so Daddy can see him!Old Pictures
Facebook has a throw back Thursday, so I wanted to share a few of Matt and me :) There is one of my mom too! Ahh high school! Cannot believe it has been 10 years!
Visits with Cammie
Cammie and I have been friends since we were in elementary school. I think the first picture you will see is from when I was either in 5th or 6th so Cammie was 6th or 7th. I also posted a picture of her and G when she first met him and recently. Her 2nd boy is just a few months older than G. She is also the the one that is so gracious and gives us all the great clothes! She recently had us over for a nice lunch with all 3 of her men (her two boys and hubby). It was yummy!

Eating Fun
Grayson loves to eat now. We decided to feed him when he turned 5 months. We started with rice cereal. We have now moved to oatmeal and avocado. He did not like avocado as much as the other two. I wonder if it is because we washed it instead of pureeing it. I shall try that soon. We are thinking another veggie is next. Maybe peas?? I am looking forward to making him some yummy farmer's market goodies. What a spoiled little boy, but can you blame me? Look at him :)
The pictures above are from his first eating! He opens his mouth sometimes when he is really ready to eat, but he has yet to turn down food. He also love to play with his toes so he does a little bit of both!

A Grand Visit
My Aunt and Uncle from Austin came. My uncle is running a marathon in a city nearby so they came up a day early and hung out. We are so glad we got to spend some time with them and I think Grayson really enjoyed himself! Next time we hope they still a little longer!
Grayson is thinking...NOOOOOOOOOOO don't leave! Keep playing with me! He was so worn out from the excitement of seeing these grand aunt and grand uncle that he napped for 3 hours after they left!
playtime with the grand people!

Matt's Minutes
I am currently on Geriatrics as a rotation which is the discipline of treating elderly patients. There are a lot of specific issues that we focus on more for geriatric patients including things like dementia, falls, incontinence, functional ability, and reducing harm especially in the realm of medications. I am at a facility that is part of the VA system which functions as partly an acute rehabilitation facility as well as long term care facility for some patients and also manages complicated hospice oncology patients. It is a unique facility and you get to see a lot of patients with drastic changes to their life including dealing with recent amputations and the struggle with recovering from that. I will be doing that for one more week.
