Easter was fun for G and I. Matt unfortunately had to work. My friend Taylor and her baby girl Nora decided to stay the night because her condo is on the market and it was the first weekend it went live. Her hubby is a surgeon and has to be in WAY early like at 5 am, so he chose to stay at the hospital instead of having a long commute. Her condo got a lot of activity and is currently pending! I am so happy for her because it has been a not so fun few weeks for her with having a toddler and getting everything ready for her condo to be on the market. It was nice to have a little mini sleep over and we enjoyed some wine before heading to bed. Matt was able to come home at a decent hour on Easter so that was super nice. Here are a few pics of Nora and G playing on Easter.
being cute
Grayson was trying to crawl
Nora loves to pat, pat, pat her baby g...sometimes her pats turn into a little bit harder and I have to watch her ;) She means well and loves her bebe...that's what she calls g
Happy Boy!
We went on a nice 2 mile walk
He did not mind the ears... :)
We tried to put Nora in the swing at the park and she was not having it...she was very upset and would not enjoy even when we pushed it :( Poor baby girl
G's Easter basket for next year! Can't beat 70% off
Pearl fun
Taylor lives in the Pearl, which is kind of like downtown. It is so much fun to walk to little shops, eat, and just explore. I try to visit her down there at least once a week. I am going to be so sad when she moves to Montreal, Canada! Not just because I love to walk around the Pearl, but I will be losing my best buddy! Boo!! The pearl is near the hospital so, Matt was able to meet us for some early dinner at happy hour.
sitting in the bank while Taylor gets money :)Eating at Brix!
Trying on hats
Passed out so Mommy and Taylor can get a pedicure...having 2 children nap at the same time is nearly impossible so we finally did it and got a pedicure before Taylor went to Hawaii...we are hoping to do it again soon :)
Grayson hiding from the son..
Tummy time
Grayson does not hate being on his tummy nearly as much as he used to. He hasn't been rolling over as much when he is on his tummy, but he has done it a few times. His head is so strong and he can totally keep his head up for a long time. Instead of rolling her just lays his head down like he has been defeated and he is exhausted. It is a good little workout!
isn't he a bit too young to be rolling his eyes at me??
StrollerI have been walking with G in his Car Seat that then hooks onto my stroller. I finally decided to put him just in the stroller. Great thing...He loved looking around and does not mind being in the stroller for a while. Usually when he is in his car seat he will fall asleep and when he wakes, he wants out. Now he wakes in a daze then enjoys the view. Cons: He does not fall asleep as fast or stay asleep as long. It is not a terrible thing, but it has always been my go to when he needed to nap and wouldn't in the house :) I do a mix of the two now. I have met a sweet girl that lives a few blocks away. We try to walk whenever it is nice outside, sometimes twice a day. She is 6 months pregnant and has a sweet little boy named Caleb that is 18 months :) I will get a pic of her sometime soon.
He is all snuggled up since it is a bit chilly in the morning.
ready for a walk with his new shades....he did not like them at first, but now he does not seem to mind them too much.

Fun times
Below are a few random pics. G had a playdate with a little boy that is a week younger than him. I also recently bought G some toys and teething things. He loves jumping around in his jumping toy and still enjoys batting things. He just loves to play and sleep. What a happy boy we have!
playdate
happy boy enjoying his bouncer
He loves to stand now, when he is being held or just on the ground. He is very strong and needs little support. He does not last very long so we still have to be very careful. He is not as strong as he thinks
a teething stick...It has a nice stopper so he does not swallow it or choke...He is pretty good at getting it in his mouth
Sophie the giraffe ...she is made to be teethed on...she is painted and made with things that are totally safe to be chewed on :)
his jumperaroo lights up and plays music
G swatting his toys. He also likes to kick the post and watch them all dance and jiggle. he is so smart
Another favorite teething toy....Mom's finger..
Matt's minutes
I am glad to be back on VA but not happy for the schedule. I always enjoy taking care of patients in the hospital more than the clinic. Last week, I was working with a very smart 2nd year resident. He taught me a lot. He switched off last week so I have a new one. We have a had a few interesting cases and as always I continue to learn a lot.
This week I got news that a case report that I was working on, with one of the bone marrow transplant doctors, is almost ready to be submitted for publication. He said this is an impressive feat for an intern. I have one other case report that is also in process. (For all you non medical folk...this is tammy.. a case report is a publication on an interesting patient that has come through the hospital. It is also a great resume booster and will help Matt with fellowship. Matt also has received several emails complementing on how great his patient care is and how thorough his patient overviews are. This is not really a surprise for those of us that know Matt well. He is doing extremely well and makes his Program Director so happy that he chose Oregon.)
I have one more week of VA Wards and then I am off to clinic again.
