Grayson Update:
Grayson is officially one inch short of 3 feet. A lot of people swear by doubling your child's height at 2 years old for boy and 18 months for girls to know their full adult stature! I have always known my boy will be a tall boy. I am interested in what it will project. He is off the charts for height and head circumference and is 95% for weight....weighing it at 28lbs (I swear he is 30 a week later). He enjoys eating almost everything and will let you know if he wants more by signing and will sometimes tap his tray on where he would like you to put it. He does not allow us to feed him most of the time, and eats about the same amount as I do. I am worried when he gets to be a teenager. I will likely have to work just for groceries.
New Developmental Milestones
New words:
Belly Button = bo-bo
cheese= t-ee-se
Elmo=Memo
Leiloni- Lay lay (He loves to walking over to her house and playing with her kitty, Gizmo, ..hence how he can say kitty)
kitty
He is actually trying to repeat most words we say repeatedly
Loves reading only animal books now....
Loves the Elmo song and tries to say the la la la part...
He can open doors with rounded handles (Not always, but this is a scary development, he has been able to do the handle one for a while)
Running at top speeds
Climbing and balancing on anything he can...(ie daddy's leg, his elmo car, diaper wipes box, toy chest)
He is starting to use a fork and spoon better and can get it into his mouth, he still prefers his hands though!
He loves to brush his teeth especially with an electric tooth brush
He loves to cap and uncap anything that has this function (tooth paste, markers, milk jugs, etc)
He can now grab other people's nose when directed to and ears. Dances to the beat...especially to Sesame Street and Big Bass Songs
He has decided he hates the vacuum and needs to be held or carried on my back when I do it...I get quite the workout lugging that 28 lbs boy!
He loves to sit on our laps or snuggle on the couch :)
Drawing and fine motor skills
He is starting to put markers and crayons less in his mouth and enjoying the "art" and "pictures" We had fun coloring on a box we received :) He felt like he must cap his own marker!

Kitty Love
As I mentioned before, Grayson loves his Lay Lay and her kitty. This was from an adventure to her house. He loved petting the kitty and trying to hug him. To answer your next question, no we will not be getting a cat, but so glad we have lovely neighbors that share their pets with our baby boy!
Play-dates
Grayson and I have been really trying to get out of the house more and just playing more. We recently met a little girl named Vanessa, 19 months. G is a little aggressive with her. I think it is partly because he wants to hug and love on her, and his size vs. her size makes it seem agressive, but it is also he is not good with sharing...:/ We are working on that!
The next two pictures are with a sweet neighborhood kid that is 3 1/2. He is so sweet and they have fun when they work out. He has an awesome mom, and I am glad I met her!
I started hanging with a girl that takes my Zumba class named Stacy and her son Henry. Henry is also 19 months and G and him seem to like playing around each other. They do not really play together but totally watch each other. It is great because Stacy and I get a long well and we have even had the hubbies together for a dinner at our house. We are actually going to their house for dinner tomorrow. :) I love when baby playdates turn into mommy-mommy and mommy-mommy daddy-daddy playdates! :)
Beautiful Weather and walks
It has been absolutely gorgeous outside lately. It is a weird concept for me to see the sun shining and it still be a little chilly out. Hey I much rather be a little chilly than scalding hot likes summers in Texas! G and I went to the park a few times, but he mostly loves to run. I opted to walk and run around in our neighborhood a few days since he is less interested in the playground and more running....Here our pictures from our adventure. Yes, we would play in other people's yard, but I figure if people let dogs go in other people's yard...why couldn't Grayson run up and down their lawn? Grayson stopped at our neighbor's house and asked for Lay Lay and pointed at their front porch. Way cute!
Grayson learned to hold hands while we walk, how to run on the sidewalk, play with the mailbox, touch a fire hydrant, point to icky water in the street. Grayson thinks the funniest word ever is GROSS lol!
Granny visit
Grayson enjoyed being with his Granny while she visited. My mom came up to watch Grayson during my whole day training since Matt worked that weekend. It was crazy to be gone from him for so long, and I have a whole new respect for working moms. It was fun to do the training, but I missed him. I know I am the one with the attachment issues not him. I am totally going to be that mom that cries when their child goes to preschool and/or kindergarten. We are all thankful Granny came to be with the baby bear!
Training
I decided to expand my fitness endeavors and have decided to teach a class called r.i.p.p.e.d. It stands for resistance, interval, power, plyometrics, endurance, and diet. It is an all inclusive workout. Now, Zumba is still my passion and love. I do not plan on giving it up, but I really wanted something that would diversify my workout routine and incorporate weights. I am looking forward to teaching a class or two in addition to my four Zumba classes! :)
Matt and I are also starting up with T-25, which is a series of fitness videos similar to insanity or P90-x, but only lasts 25 minutes. It calls for a 5 days a week for 10 weeks total. We are looking forward to doing this together! Here are some pictures from my training. My shirt looks weird because I have a shirt on underneath...oh well!
Matt Update:
Matt recently learned he got the chief resident position he applied for. This will be for the 2015-2016 school year. This is when he is completely done with his internal medicine residency and is an elective extra year. For those people looking to go into academics, it is especially helpful for career prospects. We are so happy and excited about this revelation. He is one of four chiefs and several more people applied. I think I mentioned this before, but Matt has decided to not pursue a fellowship. He is highly interested in a hospitalist job. This is the doctor you see when you are admitted to the hospital. Applying for real big boy jobs will likely happen a\two years from now and it seems so close but so far! EEEEkkk!
He is continually receiving great praise with every rotation with both new residents and his attendings. He loves his job still and the hours seem much better for the most part this year. It is crazy to think he will be starting his 3rd and final year, late this summer.
