Days off
Matt had 5 days off between his intern year ending and his second year starting! I am sad my parents got all the rainy weather, but it was really nice that we had nice weather the whole time Matt was off. It was downright hot. It has been in the 90s here! I do not know how people survive without air conditioning here...even if you do not need it most of the year...the times you need it...would be AWFUL! We nap trained during his days off, and I am glad I had Matt. Monday, when Matt went back to work, G has been super clingy and hasn't been sleeping well. I hope it is not him manipulating me. He is a little stopped up and teething. Hopefully, he gets over that soon...

Playing and crawling
G loves playing with the newspaper, old coke bottles, and remotes. He is a little man of simple tastes. I do not know why we have any toys. We could have saved some money! haha He has yet to crawl forward, but still on all fours and rocking back and forth. He can also go backwards very well. I think he is really close now because he can push himself up into a sitting position. It is only a matter of time when he figures it out....
Sleep training
I was so reluctant to sleep train Grayson. I was hoping he would just naturally start sleeping longer on his own. Unfortunately, I was wrong, and we had to sleep trained...BEST IDEA EVER!We use to dread putting G to sleep because we would have to rock him or bounce him to sleep and he would only sleep 30 minutes. You can tell he was still tired but just did not have the skills to get back to sleep. NOW, he occasionally wakes after 30 minutes but he can get himself right back to sleep and sleep for another hour. His naps now are typically an hour-2 hours. Great for me because I can get a lot of my house work done and just decompress time. I plan on running a little more on my treadmill since I am not as motivated at running outside yet...so I am also doing that during his naps... I would love to do a 5K in the near future so let's get to running!
Fun pictures with our new video camera baby monitor
G sleeps in funny ways and we felt like sharing...
G looks like a demon baby when he is awake on the monitor
Buddies
Grayson has another new friend. This is Wat. His daddy is an internal medicine resident with Matt. He is 3 weeks old in this picture. Man have I forgot how little newborns are. It seems like years ago...not 7 months that G was that tiny. Grayson definitely likes eating lunch with us at the table and he loved looking at the baby. Such sweet boys!
Grayson loves playing with Blake. Blake's mommy is Cammie, one of my oldest and dearest friends. She lived down the street from me when I was little in El Paso. We would hang out all the time all summer long. It is crazy how we are both up in Oregon now and our little boys get to grow up together. She has another sweet little boy, Lucas, he is 5. Blake is almost 10 months and walking already. I have a feeling he will be teaching G a lot of stuff...both naughty and good! Cammie and her hubby just got word they got their dream home. I am stoked because she really really wanted it and is going to have a great yard for the boys to play in. I see us hanging out there a lot!
Teething
Grayson officially has 2 teeth. Thankfully he has not morphed into demon baby like he did with his first tooth. He is a little more fussy and clingy, but maybe it will only last a day or two. I hope this does not happen for every tooth, and I hope he does not get one tooth at a time....it will be a lot of looooong days if that happens.
Eating
We are making a bigger effort to keeping G clean while he eats. He is not grabbing at the spoon as much and he loves picking up his puffs. He makes it to his mouth most of the time with the puffs and all the time with his Mum Mums which are bigger and longer, but dissolve easily as well. Grayson also loves drinking water. I am trying to teach him to hold it and lift up, so I took out the stopper allowing the liquid to flow out. He gets really wet, but loves drinking water! What a good little boy!

Sourdough is a bit too sour for G
Happy 4th of July
Matt was lucky and on clinic, so he had the day off! We just hung out around the house and we also went swimming at our neighbor's house. We had tons of fun and G loves the water!
Leiloni has also worked on teaching G to suck from a straw...he seemed to get it after a few tries!
Richards come to visit
Matt's parents came to visit us and Portland. They officially have seen more of Portland than we have. We are a little jealous that they have been able to explore more than us, but one day we will get out and around. Grayson is newly napped trained so it makes it hard to go anywhere for a long period of time so they did all their exploring on their own. They seem to have enjoyed it and now we can tell people where they should go when they come to visit :)
Next on the visiting list: Amy and Damon...my aunt and uncle in August! Looking forward to it!

Grayson loves sitting like this...this is how he starts to get into a crawl position...
G barely fits in the infant carrier so we have had him in his convertible car seat for about 3 weeks....It is nuts to believe that he was once too small ...he now LOVES the car!! Yahoo
Fun little sitting thing in a big boy bath....we usually still use his whale tub since it is less water, but he loved splashing in this...
G getting ready for bed...I know it looks like he is ready for a baseball game...but it is bed for this guy!
Grayson has a huge appetite ...He ate 2 oz of Avacado and 2 3 oz pouches....he took a long nap afterwards to digest!
Mommy and me...we were getting ready to walk
Grayson seems to like daycare now! No more tears and not having to be held the entire time!
Grayson trying to pull himself up...a little scary!!
Matt Update:
Matt decided to shave and cut his hair...huge change!
Matt is finishing up his week in clinic and then he does night float and then renal consults. Each of those are a week long. First night float having a baby....I am sure it will be okay. Thank god for a great home security system!!
